Background
Lyle Steinman started his competitive career at the age of eight, travelling all over the United States showing cattle. He won more than 300 championships at the county, state, and national levels over the next 10 years. Lyle competed with Labradors as an amateur for many years before becoming a professional trainer in 2003.
Since 2003, Lyle and his team, past and present, have racked up a fair few achievements to be proud of. More than 2,600 American Kennel Club Master (AKC) passes, and upwards of 145 AKC Master titled (MH) dogs in the hunt test game. He's qualified a record 143 dogs at the AKC Master National events, and has a record 23 dogs in the Master National Hall of Fame. At the 2014 AKC Master National in Corning, CA, Lyle passed a record 18 National qualifiers. No question, he's become one of the top retriever trainers in the country.
In the autumn of 2006, Lyle ran his first Super Retriever Series event. Since that first time in 2006, he and his team have more than 30 Super Retriever Series wins, including the 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013 Super Retriever Series Crown Championships.
When Lyle's not training, he treasures the time spent with his best mate and wife Stephanie, close mates and family. Lyle and Stephanie live near Gower, Missouri, in the summer, and in the winter, they bunk down in Wolfe City, Texas. Together, they've got three daughters, one son, and two grandkids.
